General Info

I just subscribed for the next 4 years. I'm wondering what are some of the common ways that I should take advantage of the Experts Exchange service(s).

Please advise.

Very well said by Bill.

To add, start following topics you are interested in. These could be topics you are well versed in and would like to help others with, or they are topics you want to learn about.  By following topics, you can choose to get online and/or email alerts when new items are posted such as questions and articles. I found it helps to learn to follow questions for topics I am not well versed in just to read the common issues and solutions.

I also found the best way to learn is to teach.  Answering questions in topics you are interested in helps in your own learning even if you are not well versed in that topic. Just watch that you research your answer and not just guess.

To follow a topic, you will see the main topics in the navigation. Hover over a topic to see the sub topics to finally click on one of the sub topics.  You will see a 'clear' button labeled "Follow" (Or "Unfollow" if you are already following).

Click on the Follow button and you will start getting alerts about that topic such as new questions, articles, videos.  You can manage your alerts by clicking on your avatar on the top left, select Settings

On that page, select "Communications" on the left.  Then in the middle you will have options for General, Network, Questions and Answersm, Articles, Live, Posts, News and Updates.  Click on Edit for Questions ans Answers as example you are presented with choices for how you want to receive your alerts, Email or On-site notifications or both or none.

I know I am not alone in starting EE looking for answers and found by participating and answering questions my learnnig expanded faster.
